Day 1: Arrival Addis Ababa

Up on arrival at Bole international airport and met by your travel representative and transfer to hotel. After check in to hotel, city tour of Addis. Which includes national museum- the home of complete hominid fossil remain of Lucy dates 3.2 million years back, mount Entoto- the panoramic view from the highest point of Addis with an altitude of 3200 meter above sea level, trinity cathedral- beautiful church with a baroque style of European architecture unique to both Ethiopia and Africa, ethnographic museum and Merkato (the largest open air market in Africa). In the evening, farewell traditional dinner in one of the best restaurant in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations. Overnight in Addis Ababa.

Day 2: Flight to Mekele

After breakfast, transfer in to airport to fly to Mekele. After check in to hotel, an excursion to the nearby rock hewn church of Abreha we Atsebeha and Wukro Cerko and oral Negash Mosque,the first African Islamic settlement.

Day 3: Drive to Ahmedila

After breakfast, drive from Mekele to Ahmedila and on the way visit the Afar village over the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley system to the western highland. Overnight camping

Day 4: Ahmedila

In the morning drive from Ahemedila to Lake As’ale and visit the thousands of camel caravan and the rock salt mining. Afternoon, Drive further to Dallol Cobber Sink; the lowest spot on earth’s surface not covered by water (-116 below sea level) enjoy the spectacular view and small hill, which is colorful by hot spring in several places. After visit drive back to Ahmedila. Overnight camping.

Day 5: Trekking to Erta’ale

After breakfast, drive from Ahmedila to the living Volcano Erta’ale which means “Smoking Mountain” in the local Afar language; Visit the volcano. Via the village Kursuad where you leave your vehicle and start your trekking. Overnight camping

Day 6: Drive to Lake Afdera

Morning drive from Erta’ale to the salty lake town Afdera, which is a highly saline body of water and lies at an altitude of 103 meters below sea level and listed as one of the lowest lying in the world. Overnight Camping.

Day 7: Drive to Mekele then flight back to Addis- then Departure  

Morning drive from Afdera to Mekele then transfer in to airport to fly back to Addis Ababa. Then transfer to airport to fly back to home, where the tour ends.
