12 Days and 11 Nights

Day 1: Arrival Addis Ababa 

Up on arrival at Bole international airport and met by our travel representative and transfer to hotel. After check in to hotel, city tour of Addis. Which includes National Museum, the home of the famous complete hominid fossil remain of Lucy dates 3.2 million years back, Mount Entoto, panoramic view point at the highest peak in Addis with an altitude of 3200 meter above sea level, Trinity Cathedral- a beautiful church with a baroque style of European architecture unique to both Ethiopia and Africa, Ethnographic Museum and Merkato (the largest open air market in Africa). Overnight in your hotel



Day 2: Addis-Arbaminch 

Early in the morning drive to the queen city of the rift valley Arbaminch (which means 40 springs in local language). On the way visit Tiya stele site (one of UNESCO world heritage site), Malka Kuntera archeological site then keep driving to Arbaminch and Overnight in your hotel/lodge



Day 3: Arbaminch 

Morning boat trip on Lake Chamo (the largest lake in Ethiopian rift valley lakes) to visit hippos and Nile Crocodiles at Azo (Crocodile) market on the lake, after noun drive to Chencha village to visit the Dorze tribe who lives in the high land areas and surrounded by bamboo forest and well known for their traditional weaving and towering huts. After visiting drive back to Arbaminch Overnight in your hotel/lodge 



Day 4: Arbaminch-Turmi 

After breakfast drive from Arbaminch to Turmi (the ideal place to visit the hammer tribes), on the way visit the Cushitic Erbore tribe with their untouched culture. Overnight in your hotel/lodge 



Day 5: Turmi – Omorate- Turmi 

After breakfast drive to Omorate. Crossing Omo River by their traditional boat, visit Dasenech tribes (which have a blood relation with Masaye tribe bordered with Kenya) Omo river which lasts in Kenya’s Lake Turkana, then drive back to Turmi. In the afternoon, if you are lucky, visit bull jumping ceremony (the rite of passage to manhood for hammer and Bena tribes) and in the evening visit the hammer people with their Evangadi night dancing. Overnight in your hotel/lodge 



Day 6: Turmi-Jinka 

Morning, drive to Jinka via the color full markets of KayAfer (if it Thursday), Alduba and Dimeka (if it is Tuesday or Saturday). On these beautiful markets you will visit Bena, Hamer, Tsemay and Ari tribes. Overnight in your hotel 



Day 7: Jinka-Mursi-Jinka 

On this day you will drive to the Mursi village through Mago national park to visit the Mursi tribe. The Mursi people are famous for their women putting lip plate on their lower lip and men for their stick fighting (Donga), after visit drive back to Jinka and Overnight in your hotel/lodge 



Day 8: Jinka-Yabelo 

After breakfast drive from Jinka to Yabelo and on the way visit Konso people. The Konso people are the hard working people and well known for their specially land management. The Konso landscape is one of the world heritage sites in Ethiopia registered by UNESCO. Then keep driving to Yabelo and Overnight in your hotel

 

Day 9: Yabelo- Yirgalem 

Morning drives Yabelo to Yirgalem. En route visit the Yabelo sanctuary and Tutu Fella stele site around Dilla. Then keep driving to Yirgalem and Overnight in your hotel/lodge 

Day 10: Yirgalem – Awassa


In the morning, drive to Hawassa a beautiful town on the shore of Lake Hawassa. En route visit the spectacular landscapes. Late afternoon, visit Lake Hawassa’s shore would give you the chance to observe many different species of birds and mammals in close distance.

 

Day 11: Awassa- Langano

 
Morning, drive to Langano. Lake Langano is one the rift valley lakes in Ethiopia and safe to swim with a maximum depth of 46 meters. After check in to hotel relax on the lake side beach and visit the other rift valley lake park of Abjata and Shala with a maximum depth of 250 meters, this makes it the deepest lake in Ethiopia and in Africa north of the equator and has an elevation of 1,567 meters. Overnight in your hotel/resort

Day 12: Langano- Addis- Departure


After breakfast drive back to Addis, on the way visit the rift valley Lake of Ziway with its diverse species of aquatic birds like greet pelican, Marabou stork, hammer cop and different kind of goose, Evening farewell traditional dinner in one of the best restaurant in Addis followed by folkloric dance of different Ethiopian nations. Then transfer in to airport to fly back home, where the tour ends.
